Colorless

To lofting winds and shallow puddles
Winding through time and substance
A man softly hovers
Unaware of the winter chill
Against himself he huddles
The seasons blend and fall in line
The animals forage for life
As coldness whips the air
Thoughts of long past lovers
And darkness falls upon the land
It has only just started
Before the clearing snowfall passes
And colors have departed
A settling calm weaves upon us
We awaken to a new warmth
Having made it to yet another day.
