Emerge

Carefully he wonders
Her fragrance abounds
Knowing her presence
Feeling her sounds
Reaching within
Emerging with passion
Gives love to his sweetness
In tenderly fashion

The Devil Within

It drives my thoughts
And moves my soul
Tells me things
I should not know
Takes the things
That bring me peace
Allows the beast
To be released
Alas this freedom
Living alone
Expose its face
Inner voice shown

Misplaced Words

He stumbles as he reaches
For words to speak for him
Memory dim
Of what the past teaches
Darkly grim
Wishing to awaken
He can now rejoice
But quickly retaken
By his inner voice

Thoughts...

To the shelters I prowl
Watching them toil
Pushing their needs
Planting their seeds
But to wonder aloud
As I set to recoil
I have to imagine
What are they thinking

Personal Space

She was new to my world
A virtual stranger
She knew not the extent
Of her impending danger

Lost Boy

As a wisp of warm air
He slips past the gate
His deepest secrets
Locked inside innate
To share with himself
His wondrous dreams
Where under a bridge
His life always beams
For there he will go
And bring forth his joy
The stranger is now
Long lost as a boy

Brutal Stranger

This weapon for love
Strikes effective
Not selective
Brings her to a new
Objective
He fills her void
But travels softly
Reflective
Of past loves
In the range her
Memories once of
This brutal stranger

Unfamiliar

In slumber it seems
I am living in dreams
The walls unfamiliar
The people obscene
But awaken to hope
Of the home that I know
A place of kindness and love
Where beauty can grow
But fate takes my arm
And pulls me to danger
The more it does harm
The more is the stranger

The Stranger Awaits

On the block he is marched
In the cover of night
To the holding quarters
Under the light
He feels the rage of his porters
Prepared for the fight
And the stranger who waits
To instill his fright

Infinite Lock Down

Into the sun a man stares
Focused on the horizon
Waiting
He dreams of the places
To begin his arising
Futile chases
Cold faces
Another locked door
Freedom nevermore

Betrayal

Carving out a path to freedom
To have it denied
Friends who seek to save me
Leave me behind
I fight to understand
Where loyalties lie
Why so many should have to die
But I see in reflections
Returning in their eyes
Sending back my pain
I am but blue rain

Colorless

How blue is the rain I cannot see
I ask as the walls keep it from me
Colors exist on other levels
Where I am not allowed to witness
Only steel and concrete
And wooden tables
Where I am to confess
I see black and white
And continue with life

Inherent Pain

The thunder of boots in a darkened hall
Sounds of screams through a cement wall
Thoughts of no one hearing a call
Knowing again my defenses will fall
But through this fight I have only you
In my thoughts as all I can do
To shutter the sounds of inherent pain
I close my eyes to keep myself sane
Through roaring downpours of my blue rain
Crashing the ground in my throbbing brain

Before Assimilation

Complexities define me
For none know my next move
I need what soon I will see
Until then I leave no clue
Will she stand beside me
Or cross a busy street
Her scent evokes a wildness
For which I must compete
For will I take her briskly
Or move upon the next
Each time it becomes risky
Or now I could reject
To go upon resistance
Walk away in simulation
Let her feel safe
Before assimilation

We Are But One

Through the gates we are led
Our souls now dead
For here we suffer conformity
Through brutality
Injustice and destiny
With decimation
Comes Revelation
And ultimate assimilation

Fires of the Tormented Soul

Don't look in my eyes
As I hold you still
Ignore the fires
That burn at will
Remove the gifts
You have for me
And slip the lists
You would foresee
As best you know
You've never seen
An average Joe
You've been wiped clean
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Scars of Injustice

Gently I move where I can see
A clearer view of my eternity
Windy gusts across a plain
Delicate flowers that ease my pain
Upon mountains I climb above
To shower below my intentions of love
And softly I endeavor to caress
The cheek of humanity to fully undress
A nature of life that goes within this
To smooth away deep scars of injustice
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Undone

Times dictate reactions
I see her there
Can't help but stare
Building internal factions
Drive me to her
But she sees her focus
I move with care
And realize my motive
While she moves unaware
That I am where
My instinct has control
My actions are not my own
I struggle to care
But chill to the bone
Enter the home
Blind from the stone
Put her to rest
As only I can do best
But gaze in the mirror
And snap to my test
Envision my horror
Reached my final quest
For this I must run
Immune from the rest
Again I digress
This can't be undone

Evolution of Freedom

Silence the only sound I hear
From beyond the razor wire
My loneliness becomes so dire
Love becomes so dear
And hidden things now near
Soon they will appear
In shadows of darkened halls
While peering through the walls
No longer will I fear
To what this has evolved

The Price I Must Pay

Frost upon the grass
Gazing from my hole
Seeking comfort
But knowing not my role
Of purpose or of sorts

Comes deep within my soul
Not unlike the courts
Where others come to rhyme
And life will take my time
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Intrusions

Lost in a storm of powerful words
Tossed from walls to visions
Captivated by the heards
And touched by their incisions
Behind these sounds I can endure
A lifetime of conclusion
Of this I surely can be sure
By deep and dark intrusions

Beyond the Wall

Beyond the wall lay years of loss
Unreturnable forever
And at what steep and deadly cost
For what has been endeavored
But soon I will break down this pain
And venture back to freedom
For all of those who have been slain
For those who would believe them
A creeky gate with rusty keys
An escort to the entrance
And withered souls so worn as these
No vision of repentance

Reflections

I see myself through shattered lenses
Shards upon my past
Sitting among lavish denziens
Hoping it won't last
Men have taken to abuse
My kind and gentle nature
I choke them but they still refuse
Poetic nomanclature
But as I struggle to escape
These chains of mans injustice
I form a state they can relate
From all of their destruction
I look within to see my soul
Reflections of my face
And sit here in my quiet hole
My sins I will erase

Forever...

Bitches fight for love
On bruthas who don't give it up
They put themself through hell
Then need help from above
But the boyz they crave are hollow
Beaten shells of selfishness
Locked in cells of misogyny
Forever they will wallow
But soon will come salvation
A bright and loving star
A man to answer all their dreams
With depths of warmth afar
Into their lives he will return
To give them pangs of pleasure
And slowly beating drums of passion
Forever they will treasure
This man will take their darkest sorrow
And turn it into beauty
Their souls from which his hand will borrow
A saga to end with fury
For his love will be encircling peace
Wrought with pain and struggle
But in the end the pain will ease
Eternal sleep to snuggle.

For Soon I Shall Come

My appeal is in tact
Soon will be fact
To you I will find
To return your kind
And stuff into place
My eternal disgrace
To warm your dark soul
And fill your vast hole
A warning to some
For soon I shall come

Curvature Of The Sublime

I sit alone surrounded
By four walls grounded
My boys pounded
Alarms sounded
Soul hounded
For I imagine my escape
Steel and tape
Backroom rape
Windows agape
I slip into the night
Eluding the fight
Knowing what is right
Briskly in flight
Holding tight
I slip away
Nothing to say
I cannot stay
But society will pay
For this is the way
The plan I lay
And death to demons at the light of day

To Stand Trial

It went unnoticed my abilities to reason
Competency is now cause
To regress for their treason
But with retrials come victory
And valor defeat
Of misgiven convictions
And disgraceful retreat
For soon I will conquer
The justless system
And crush all of those
Who forced my conviction

Cleansing Souls

He questions of my words of peace
How I had done my deeds
If I did clean of where I'd been
Or where I sowed my seeds
I say to them I cleared my paths
But doubt rings in their words
Of painful shadows clearly cast
Where screams are never heard.
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Furiousity

There lies within my mighty soul
A path to rich defiance
Where men who recreate my role
Yet struggle for comliance
I sit here waging battles fierce
Armed with tools of honor
My armor they shall never pierce
I lay my love upon her
With waves of curiosity
She fights to gain her freedom
But with my furiosity
I force my way between them
She lay silent gazing up
I gently close her eyes
She sleeps now in eternal love
As I'm plagued with racist lies.

Forces of Hatred

Racist endeavors to keep me down
Got no purpose; got no ground
Words of hate
Still emmanate
Fill the air with rage
Defy me to regenerate
I cannot turn the page
Clearly seen within their words
Agendas filled with hatred
Flying free among the birds
Stoned to the ground deflated
Devils seek to kill my soul
Rip it from my being
Among the things that they have stole
Of what I am not seeing
But I digress these racist pigs
Shall not demote my choices
I counter their most evil tricks
And shall defeat their forces

Ghosts of Defiance

A passing wind untangles me
And roots to higher grounds
Of taking into custody
And slipping out of bounds
I fight the tyranny of youth
And struggle to outgrow it
I witness the barrage of truth
And forcefully bestow it
But deep within my soul of souls
I dig for self reliance
And journey down into a hole
To slay ghosts of defiance

Oppressive Fluid

It has been called a substance
Exhibit twenty nine
To scientifically report
The fluids would be mine
But what of science and the law
Be fully circumspect
I looked and knew of what I saw
A loss of all respect
Convictions of a racist band
Of devils in disguise
I offer each my willing hand
And look them in their eyes
For one fine day I will arrive
To greet these evil men
Who endeavor to deprive
Beg mercy will they then

Seek Freedom

It is but a fleeting thought
To take for granted such nature
Of freedom and liberty to go
Upon our way for life
Without benefit of empathy
To take from others unaware
To witness their despair
Evidence take away freedom
A single strand of hair
Years will pass with thoughts of when
He could have left behind
This incarceration within a pen
His freedom he could find

Working Man

I struggle to create
But others do to take
My fashion is copied by group elite
And racist cover copies
Alas my ideas worth to many
But to me they offer none
For taking what was been done by me
Shall see you to your end

They Know Not

The pain and suffering we must endure
Their hatred of us for it
They know not of our tireless struggle
And step upon us anyway
For they have not been to where we go
Or seen the agony in our eyes
They see beyond our twisted fears
But neglect our fleeting cries
Our blood means nothing to their lives
They sentence us to years
My pain oozes from my pores
And sweat devours my tears
My freedom is of no consequence
I melt away from years

Trash Day

It's trash day in the neighborhood
Me and Lemuel take our walk
He points to where he laid her down
And bit her clean pink gut
I lift the cover heavily
We toss the bags inside
We envy for her lifelessness
Beyond the walls she rides
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Rain

The saddness of a rainy day
I plead for where I go
I summon for a passing ride
They see invisible
To them I do implore my rage
Splashed and weary wet
Lean into her now broken vent
She moves aside with ease
I hold her tight against her door
She begs me Mister Please
Lights flash behind us now
She loses time from me
We open up the speeding door
She quickly disappears
Her tumbled mass a speed bump now
And I lose ten more years

Longing For Her

Longing for the love that sends me here
Longing for her touch and an ice cold beer
Longing for the grill and her chicken fired
Longing to be free from this hell mired
Longing for the love I inject upon her
Longing to devour as I lay beyond her
Longing to be free and send her away
Longing for another satisfying day

Beat Down

A missent glare
Beaten down
Cameras watch
Domed mirrored stare
Bloodied strikes
Payment pending
Mens heads pool
Crushed and bending

Of Shadows Cast

When we are coming up
And serve the rules of men
Before us
We develop our own
Place our trusts
Bury the tools
We share and hone
Go forth and find
Our Mother's kind
At mailroom lines
And troubled times
For those behind
That venture trying
Befall the same
Their fathers trials
We come to pass
Of police blasts
Didn't do nothing
But shadows cast
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Swift Racist Justice

Of courts and judges I summon a plea
Why the system has focused on me
For I have done what any man would have done
And forced by my race to go on the run
Witnesses and rats an unlikely foe
And justice for blacks unbearably slow
But my brothers in arms have shown me the way
And for ratting me out they shall all rue the day
Alphonso Dzee have reckoned their stature
When I am released they shall witness the rapture
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Parole Mentor

He gives me knowledge for when I get out
But tells me to chill as he shows me his doubt
For his time is mine as we live out our lives
With positive hopes as the end soon arrives
Before a board of racists we face
Twenty five to life our unfortunate dates
But alas years go by in increasing haste
And our time we make up for what we would waste
©2009 LUTHER SPELLS

Terminal Brothers

I met brother Lemme when I first arrived
He spoke of the years he's had to survive
The injustice of evidence thrown in his face
Humiliating searches in the darkest of space
But under his wing and guidance from age
We share together our focus of rage
Where we are taken from our prime of life
And forced to endure this oppressive strife
For it was not our own that got us in here
But rather an unfounded racist fear
That our lives are worth less for the color of skin
Of which defines the trouble we in
Thin evidence of hate we see in the court
Our unfair detainment they never report

Breakfast In Bed

For I am here and cannot depart
My morning is spent; my meal where I start
Through the slot on a sectioned steel platter
The cart in the foyer a noisy loud clatter
Bacon and eggs religious disgrace
Is all I can get from this miserable place
But I save the meat and devour the eggs
And use the bacon on my enemy dregs
For we lack any weapons against all our foe
But unlikely treasure like this can put on a show
For lunch I am led to my own cavity
And throw my bacon with depravity
For inmates get pork while others get feces
Officers of law the unlucky species

Lemuel

We are but children when we arrive
See each other through babies eyes
Under a wing we need our shelter
He tried to feel, he finally felt her
For years he made his way alone
Took her for his very own
She loved him dearly but was taboo
For her to do what she would do
He helped her see her inner sanctum
When he was done she truly thanked him
But Lemuel knew what he must muster
Fold her up into the dumpster
Biting fear injustice lingers
For Lemuel it will ring years

Law Librarian

She thinks she stands above me there
Her pen lodged firmly in her hair
With stern reproach she holds me back
Unaware she changes track
And releases me unto the books
Of legal knowledge with glaring looks
She points her finger to beware
Not knowing I'm about to share
The warmth and tenderness that she lacks
In subtle backroom fierce attacks

Prison Halls

Though I sit incarcerated I am free
From the perils of life that have entangled me
Apart from the evils in which I was caught
Above all the wrong this existence hath wrought
But still encircled by the hatred of many
I fight to the death the injustice they send me
For devils prevail within thick cement walls
To batter against me in dimly lit halls
I fall to the feet of no man of this prison
But rage at the penalties of which I am given
And if a day comes when I am then challenged
A fate shall befall him a brutal last balance

Racial Invisibility

It's tough for a brother to get some love
From a system of people not sent from above
Electronic passage awaits eons of time
For some racist collective to release my rhyme
I sit in a rage of violent contention
Develop myself a new means of invention
To combat injustice and blind deliverance
Like a child left alone in obstructed envisions
But return me my faith in a flawed awkward system
Belief to my sense that my work will be with them
And send me on high to drop upon masses
Of levels of love across multitude classes

Joy Ride

I seek to drive away my pain
To step off the curb into the lane
Pull the car and ask to use
Without leaving any clues
They fight to stay but I am stronger
We quickly make them breathe no longer
I cruise to freedom I see the light
And drive on deep into the night
The man is unaware to see
His witnesses lie next to me
Into the town emerging from the fog
I'm free at last another cog
In a wheel of doubt and unjust pursuit
And taking an unlikely route
Where nobody can see what I have done
With vengence a mask and a gun
They will seek when I retreat
As I disappear out to the street

Incarcerary Warmth

We lock in tight and see each other
He is new; he is my brother
His graceful stroll along the tiles
The man walks him the first long mile
He is greeted with charm; greeted with cheers
Greeted by many beyond his years
I know right off he will be mine
In times as this we are inclined
We toss aside stigmatic fear
A black man knows what he must endear
To make the step for worthy lust
And survive a world racially unjust
To the yard we go to make our measure
Discovering our implied shared treasure
Lights out now we make advances
With the Man awake we take our chances
Of agonony screams our first encounter
I dream of her and how I'd pound her
We roll away; we've made our connect
For each time more lest they detect
The rigors of love in concrete cells
Such is the pain of Luther Spells
