Destiny

To see what is ours
But not to reach
To hold fast the dreams
We struggle with fate
And hope it is kind
Our youth we will teach
Their peace we should find
Erase all the hate
Through the windows
Of the mind.

  4. Indeed it is sad to see what we own but never can fully enjoy ...it would be an on going thing to erase hate from the windows of the mind.

You said much and I saw much in your windows.

  5. Erase all the hate Through the windows Of the mind - I think this idea is harder to implement - it is so easy to use our physical strength rather our mind

-but I find hope in your words that perhaps someday...

  6. Anything is possible --- but we live in a time where possibilities are gifts to the haves of this world, and the dream of the have nots.

Do I have hope --- I am old and full of bitterness, this could be blocking my hope, but I doubt it.

  7. "To see what is ours
    But not to reach"
can be such a challenge for those who have so little, left outside of our windows, locked out a mere stone throw away.

  9. Great graphic -- made me think of Ash Wednesday and the mark on my forehead to remind me that I am simply ash and dust. Very tender poem.

  10. I particularly like the first two lines -- to see it but not reach it. Very creative reinterpretation of the windows logo!

it is an act of devotion to daily free our minds of fear and regret so our dreams can take root.

  15. I thank you all for the kind encouraging words. Through you all I am given strength and confidence to progress and refine my thoughts. As I enter a new chapter in the book of my life, I shall take with me your positive thoughts and expand them to a more powerful me. I have missed Dark Lord these past two prompts however, and this worries me. He is a special light that shines above me illuminating a path with which I follow closely behind him. I do hope he is merely vacationing or otherwise consumed with productive endeavors. He is a voice we all must continue to hear.

  16. Interesting take on the prompt. I like that the image reminds me of the "Windows" application on a computer. I pray we can erase all the hate.

  17. Thank you, for remembering me in my absence! This means a lot.. I've missed blogging, and going through your poems as well! To be back is great! :)
You are really kind with your comments.. I'd say the same for you though.. Barring the recent few of your poems (and I wonder if it is synchronous with your "new" chapter in life) you generally compose powerfully dark verses which are potent reflections on the chequered grey of life.. and reading them are really, really educating!
Meanwhile, I wonder when we, your readers, will be in the light about your new "chapter"... :)

  18. Its a profound change to see you compose poems of this genre.. Goes without saying, an endeavour wonderfully, wonderfully accomplished!
"to see what is ours, and not to reach".. brilliant lines, my friend! The last three lines were a fitting end to the superb verse!
