The Stranger Awaits

On the block he is marched
In the cover of night
To the holding quarters
Under the light
He feels the rage of his porters
Prepared for the fight
And the stranger who waits
To instill his fright

  2. Your use of 'cover of night' and 'under the light' provides such a powerful visual contrast...this poem evokes strong, intense emotions!

  4. Thank You Floreta! Positive reactions help fuel me. My poetry and art are my escape and I am so very happy that others can find joy in reading it as much as I find in reading all of theirs. I am surrounded by negativity and rage, so this little corner of beauty and peace is keeping me alive!
